Pres. Obama in his speech this morning implored the Speaker of the House to just call for the vote. Perhaps we need to take to the streets and have rallies all over the nation to call for the vote! Also emails, phone calls to reps. and senators and letters to the editor.

(77,097 posts)unemployment line, mall, traffic stop, street corners, neighborhood walk, church (if you go), theater, sporting events, restaurants, doctors' offices, school, work place if you can safely do so and every place. Speak out. Before they actually kill this grand experiment in democracy.

I did that and also sent a letter to the editor to several local papers around me (Seattle, Olympia, Tacoma and the alternative papers and Colleges)

(6,474 posts)I thought about posting this exact point yesterday. "Call the Vote" or "Let them Vote". I kind of like "Let them Vote" because it reinforces that the votes are actually there but the vote is being held hostage by the Tea Party
