The Lawrence motorcycle rider critically injured Sunday in a wild New York City road rage incident has had his right to drive in Massachusetts revoked since 1999, according to state transportation records.
He also has had dozens of traffic violations, those records show.

(15,859 posts)Mieses learners permit to drive a car was suspended in 1999 following a spate of violations in Lawrence, including speeding, failure to stop, attaching improper plates, driving without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle, according to records from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. He never received a drivers license for a car or motorcycle, the records show.
Since then, he has accumulated numerous violations for driving without being licensed, along with violations like speeding, driving to endanger and failure to stop, according to the records. Those violations extended the suspension on his right to drive.
Most recently, he was arrested on May 24 in Andover for driving without a license.

(15,859 posts)I sincerely doubt he's the only one with such an abysmal record. Looks like it was only a matter of time before something truly horrible happened.
He didnt even have the right to be on the road. *smh* My mind is blown.

(59,440 posts)His family is all over the news demanding the the SUV driver be arrested and charged. They are also planning a big lawsuit against the driver. I can only imagine what that little kid is going through. PTSD for sure.

(28,581 posts)I have zero sympathy for this guy. I do have some for his family though. They love him and especially the mom wants to see the best in him and like many moms, ignores the faults. She and his wife will spend a lifetime caring for him now.

(15,859 posts)If he hadnt been doing something illegal he'd be just fine right now. That would be like breaking into someones house and suing them for beating you. They're out of their minds. I lived in Lawrence for a while. He sounds like one of the many assholes I ran into (lived right off of Broadway). Not a half a brain in their heads and thinking their shit doesnt stink.
Really, those parents should be thanking their lucky stars that their irresponsible, dumbass of a son is still alive.
I cant imagine what the SUV family is going through. My heart really breaks for them.
ps. Hi from 45 min north.

(59,440 posts)Lawrence is a really scary place to live. Not as bad as Lynn, but at least I know my way around there. Lawrence freaks me out every time I drive there.

(15,859 posts)I didnt know anything about it when I moved in with a friend that lived there. What an eye-opener! Took me less than a week to learn not to go ANYWHERE by myself after dark.
Wait... you live in a place worse than Lawrence? I didnt think there was a worse place in MA.

(59,440 posts)I grew up in Lynn. Don't go there after dark. Now I live up near the NH border.

(15,859 posts)Lots of nice places near the border. Ever get over to Newburyport? Such a beautiful place. I'd live in a box on Plum Island if they'd let me.

Yep. Great people. Great city. Wish I could afford to live there. *sigh*
