If you think that such an animal exists then whilst you're making shit up, perhaps you could find something that we can use to actually um, like use against the reich wing holding our country hostage?
You could possibly include some facts about the matter as well. Like exactly who are these progressives who are so verklempt that it's obvious to the average joe and maybe even some from Michigan?
Really?? The reason the government shut down is because progressives were so emotionally paralyzed that they allowed the Koch funded teabaggers who campaigned on shutting down the government to actually, um, SHUT DOWN THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT to get elected? Were progressives supposed to go invade those teabagging districts (where we don't live) and then do what?
Do you stupid fucks who dreamed up yet another churlish insult to be thrown at those who are tired of starving our children and elders really think that this is the fault of progressives?
I actually kind of happy you went there, because now there is precious little room for you to be so inventive about the next wave of insults as you insulate your echo chamber of divisive third way claptrap that spews forth covering smoke in hopes the real world won't notice your cooperation with those who have been dismantling the new deal over the last 30 years.
Of course it had nothing to do with the party third way leadership marginalizing progressive voices after 2008. It had nothing to do with the party abandoning the 50-State strategy which brought us a majority in the house. It had nothing to do with a chief of staff calling the left "retards", right?
I will give you one thing, you are persistent. If this wasn't so fucking important you would actually be funny, but no, you're just sad.

(11,804 posts)All day and all night, crying to themselves out on the bayou. Wailing away about their misery. First of all they got born as a frog, and then they can't get a good job at Stuckys because they banged the store managers wife back in the 90s. It's hard being a frog, I know, but do they have to wail about it all day and all night?
Wait - sorry - this was about EmoProgs. My mistake.

What he said was... running TV ads attacking democrats was retarded. Fact is. You've been proven retards. See my next comment as to how this is provable.

(88 posts)Apparently, the issue is that you've been rat-fucked by the far right and are too stupid to realize it. Therefore, at this late date, allow me to plop this in the thread for the sake of posterity: https://www.academia.edu/9716371/CHAPTER_20_OATH_KEEPERS_NETWORKS_WITH_TEA_PARTY_AND_PATRIOTS
Would you say that white supremacists are "progressive"? Me either. Yet "progressives" are not only writing for a white supremacist rag, but are circulating white supremacist material: http://meldungen-aus-dem-exil.noblogs.org/post/2015/07/19/counterpunch-or-suckerpunch/
Why are "progressives" (aka: emoprogs) doing this? Answer: Ron Paul: video demonstrating why you're fucked beyond hope of redemption:
You allowed these people to lead you over a cliff, because you're driven, not by reason, but by emotion Hence: "emo-prog"
You're welcome.

Maybe I haven't been following closely enough but I for one have no idea what you're talking about and kind of think that a lot of others are likely in the same boat.
If you feel the need to start another thread and link to an old thread, neither of which at least by my quickie search uses the term "emoprog" (whatever that is) that has you all hot and bothered it would be nice to add a bit of backstory.

(12,296 posts)Toss out the chum bait in an inflammatory thread & those who don't already have "them" on ignore, will most likely take umbrage - and the bait - and end up alerted on en masse by the clique, have their posting priv's postponed and/or be tombstoned and VOILA! a "dissent free DU" full of cheerleading lemmings.
Just a little internal genocide, IMHO.
Sad, really.

(27,670 posts)Lying about it by excoriating and blaming the left is part of the conservative agenda/gameplan. Pin the blame on the left, and make the "left" into a bogeyman, so they can move the country further to the right. The current conservative shutdown of the government is a direct result of their efforts:
Democrats moving to the middle is a double disaster that alienates the partys progressive base while simultaneously sending a message to swing voters that the other side is where the good ideas are. It unconsciously locks in the notion that the other sides positions are worth moving toward, while your sides positions are the ones to move away from. Plus every time you move to the center, the right just moves further to the right." ~ George Lakoff

Unfortunately, that happens on DU.

Applied accurately, that would mean there shouldn't be many of them, yet the Ministry of Truthiness claims they are everywhere, foiling their elections and making life difficult for the 3rd Way's goal to create a perfect(ly awful) America.
Can't have it both ways- either we're small and meaningless, or we're bigger than they can control and won't go along with their Reaganizing plans.

(27,670 posts)the party and the country to the right by promoting laissez faire capitalism.
It is not the Left that has moved the country and the party to the right.
Can't you see what has happened since the DLC/Third Way conservatives took over the Democratic party over the past 30 years? The shutdown of the government by RW extremists is the direct result of the conservative Democrats not taking a hard line against republicans.

(55,894 posts)and with whom there is no ability to have an actual discussion.
Hence the EMO part.
Of course it's inflammatory to those it might apply to. That might be part of why it gets you so annoyed.
One of these days I am going to post about Ideologues because it's apparent a number of DU'ers don't realize what their behavior has become.
treestar
(82,383 posts)they have zero problem using inflaming names on fellow Democrats (and never seem to get around to name calling of Republicans).
hootinholler
(26,449 posts)Are you saying I am one of these EMO Progs?
Who are those who are stuck on outrage beyond being able to have a discussion?
Here I thought I was annoyed because the name calling brings nothing to the table for discussion. Having run out of facts they resort to name calling. Why one of their kittens left us just yesterday.
The ideologues here are not on the left.
KittyWampus
(55,894 posts)And that happens here on both sides every single day.
Both sides being the Ideologues who insist on all/nothing and the Pragmatists who are the Sensible Woodchucks. You've never used the term "Woodchuck", have you?
Proof "both" factions of the Progressive Left engage in the gotcha?
Besides the FEW threads blaming the Left who didn't vote which I believe has you riled up there were also a FEW threads shrieking "Obama Caved" when he called for meetings and "Obama picks Romney's Guy" when he HAD to pick a Republican.
Wouldn't you agree that all of those threads mentioned above were divisive and somewhat simplistic if not outright misleading?
Some people just like to always attack from whichever direction they are prone to doing so. Because they are less about discussion and more about venting spleen.
So unless you found both types of threads (Obama Caved/Emo BlaBla) not worthwhile and equally annoying, you might be an ideologue.
For the record, I haven't posted on any of the few threads blaming the "Emos". I am now trying very hard to not use inflammatory labels.
hootinholler
(26,449 posts)I did find the whole cave thing outrageous. The poster who started it was shown the door. Yes, I did react to it.
The woodchuck meme? Yeah, I've used it. It came from a comic strip. I didn't realize the term woodchuck was so inflammatory, but, yes it is a stereotype and I've used it when I've seen the stereotypical behavior.
What I haven't seen is anything approaching the EMO stereotype on the left, that is what chaps my ass. Show me examples of that behavior here and I'll self delete the thread.

(56,177 posts)Then explain to me how these so-called emoprogs are so flipping powerful they decide elections if they're only referring to those on the very far left? It's just the latest insult meant to geared at anyone who remotely questions Obama or anything the Democrats have done.

(28,552 posts)... when they resort to idiotic labels like that.
The turd way is unraveling as ordinary folks find that the promises of a better economic life for everyone not only did not materialize, what little was there vanished.
5 years of recession are starting to wake people up. the Republicans and the turd way assholes got almost everything they wanted. Look what happened.
treestar
(82,383 posts)They let emotions rule rather than facing reality. They need to own up to that.
They continue to insist (as right wingers do) that the Democratic Party should run only people very, very progressive, everywhere, including red states. They simply insist that right wing districts will send a representative who is purely on the left to Congress, rather than the Republican. They think tough words will win over the nation to a very very very progressive agenda. Grayson or Warren do this and they think that if Grayson or Warren were simply elected POTUS (how that is to happen as a practical matter they don't know) that they would continue to talk the same way and that would be enough to sway the entire electorate to be very very very progressive.
Elizabeth Warren could shut down the churches and have the banks nationalized if she could just somehow be President.

(45,851 posts)What is screwed up is the labeling, liberal has been so demonized by the right for thirty plus years that many Americans automatically respond negatively to anything that is painted with the liberal label.
A good example is that many more Americans react favorably to the PPACA than to Obamacare despite the fact they are just two different labels for exactly the same product.

Right now I think there is a tremendous amount of support both for our President and our Party, on DU.
