Please, could someone explain this to me....

Why am I seeing all of these Facebook posts (really just reposts of stupid graphics) that say something like, "Congress shouldn't be exempt from Obamacare!"

What in the bloody hell are these nuts going on about?

Please - my DU brethren - explain their thinking to me. I'm assuming this is coming from Fox and Friends.

This is a plan to get people on insurance and preventive care and out of emergency rooms where the costs are doubled and tripled because cases are so severe by the time they get there.

Congress is covered by insurance.

It happened to more than half the workers in his store.

Tell them we ALREADY PAY FOR single payer for each and every American. The ACA doesn't go far enough. We should all get what we pay for.

Members of Congress and their staffs were covered under the same FEHB program as all other federal govt employees. It is not single payer. There are hundred of different companies and plans involved.

But, the ACA had specific language that forced members of Congress and their staffs onto the exchanges. So, no, they are not exempt. There was an argument that the govt may or may not separately specially subsidize their premiums.

There have been many threads on this.

Their activism goes so far as to re-post inane graphics. When you challenge them on it, they mysteriously go quite.
