Boehner "was laughed at " after raising grand bargain with Obama

Boehner raised the prospect of a grand bargain-type deal at the White House meeting and was laughed at because everyone feels like they’ve heard this song and dance before. The general feeling is, if he’s really ready to make some tough choices – read, revenue – then great. But the history of this from where we sit is Boehner talking a big game, then bailing as soon as he runs into the inevitable resistance from a certain faction in his caucus. So we will believe it when we see it, but are proceeding under the assumption that this is just more of the same big talk, no walk.

and get nothing in return.

They'll never accept additional revenue.

This whole grand bargain proposal is a joke and it deserves nothing but scorn and ridicule.

He did get the votes to pass the House's repeal. What he didn't have was any support in the senate to pass that in the senate. He knew that going in. And he knew that if somehow managed to pass the senate, BHO would just veto it. He also knew he didn't have enough to override a veto.

So the whole repeal action was just show.

and possibly a few other things on the table. We have been sold out so many times before I worry it could still happen. I hope Obama keeps up the heat like he did today and stands firm until the Republicans literally melt like Frosty the Snowman. If they do, somebody better hide the magic hat!

He is a drunk, and I do not believe anything an alcoholic says.
They are grandiose and talk about what they are going to do. And then they don't do it.
