ZEELAND The Obama Administration denied Gentex Corp. shareholders a tidy profit earlier this week when it delayed implementing a 2008 law that would require back-up cameras on new cars.
The decision also robbed Republicans of an election year issue, according to Businessweek.com.
Although the 2008 law was signed by former President George W. Bush, the Obama Administration has been under fire by Republicans and GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, who vow to do away with job-killing regulations.

The delays wont stop Republicans from linking Obama to expensive rulemaking, but these types of decisions will lessen their impact, said BusinessWeek.com, quoting Dan Schnur, communications director for John McCains 2000 presidential campaign.
Even if you assume these decisions were made for policy reasons, its still very smart politics.

(168 posts)I read the article and the comments.
Guy talks about orange cones and wishes he had cameras. Well duh you can buy them as aftermarket addons if you want.
And another commenter gave me another arrow for my quiver of comebacks for the rethugs.
When they start crying about regulations killing jobs. I will come back at them with; So you want to repeal regulations that are killing jobs? In that case what about the jobs that the regulations create to implement and maintain said regulations?
Any ideas on how to make it sting them a bit more?
