They need something to save face. I think they realize the predicament that they've got themselves into and now have no way out. So they think they need someone to throw them a bone so they can save face.

I say we need to continue to let them squirm. They have finally shot themselves in the foot. They are taking the brunt of the blame for this shutdown.

They got two choices: 1. Boehner brings a clean CR vote to the House and end this shutdown. or 2. If your going down in flames - take everyone else down with them - here they string this thing out until we face the deficit confrontation and bring down the world's economy.

I really don't see any middle ground. Like our policy of not negotiating with terrorists - the President can't negotiate with these Repugs - because - they will only try it again.

One has to stand up to the bully and face them down. That's what needs to be done right now.

I still say if Boehner was smart - he'd use Obama, the Dems and the Senate to help him bring down the Tea Party. Boehner needs to face his bully down as well. I believe he can do that with the help of the Dems. He needs to bring a clean CR for the vote. Take the wind out of the sails of the Tea Party. Re-open the government. The Repugs in general need to stand up to the Tea Party. They can't let the likes of a Ted Cruz bring down the Party.

So I think that's the only way out. IMHO
