When the Republican conferees sit at a table and act as if they are waiting on the Democrats to "conference", most Republicans know it is only a political game. They know they have turned down the Democrats 18 times since March, according to Senator Patty Murray.

Fifty percent of registered Republicans know that the leaders of their Party are lying and being deceitful, yet they cheer them on.

Furthermore, they help to convince the other 50% of Republicans that do not know better. They only believe that their Party is being honest with them. They don't realize that their Party is playing them for fools. Or they simply don't care.
