The Republican Party is having a meltdown

Republicans decided to attack women as a political strategy and it backfired. Now blowhard Rush Limbaugh launches an ill-informed vile attack on the woman that Republicans denied an opportunity to testify at their all-men hearing on contraception. Seriously, how stupid can some people be? They could have left the issue die down, but no. Evidently, women must be stopped and put in their place. A handful of Republican members of Congress scrambled to issue their lame condemnations of Limbaugh only days after they voted in support of the offensive Blunt-Rubio amendment.

To make matters worse, the GOP Presidential candidates are cowards and hypocrites who have aligned themselves with these right-wing assaults. Mitt Romney is so confused he's still flip flopping on support for Blunt-Rubio. Also, Romney is apparently so terrified of criticizing Limbaugh that he issued a statement to the effect that "it's not the language I would have used." (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002376195) He's likely searching a thesaurus for a kinder gentler word for "slut." Only Romney can mess up a simple condemnation.

Who on earth told these fools that a war on women was a good election-year strategy?

Republicans stepped in it big time. They have mobilized a huge anti-blowhard bully movement.

because before I started taking the pill in 1971 at the age of 18, my life was hell. I will not go into detail of my wretching pain but I missed a lot of school and activities.

THE PILL SAVED MY LIFE!

My mom called me yesterday. She cried as she recalled how it gave me a normal life. My husband is angrier than I've seen in a while. Trust me when I say that this is affecting everyone that counts. I want this fight to continue until we get every conservative out of office.

That medicine was there for me when I needed it and by God I will, until my last breath. do whatever I can to keep it available for those that need it now and in the future!

It's strictly pandering. But, i noticed back in around 1996, maybe it was 2000, that a bunch of guys at the Libertarian Convention were pontificating about abortion.

So, i think the ideals have been shifting for a while. Whatever is politically expedient, i guess.

so was the other part of his comment: "I’m focusing on the issues I think are significant in the country today."

I mean, Romney just stated that women's rights and health care decisions are not "significant" issues.

Since they want hormones (i.e., estrogen derivatives and/or progestin or progesterone derivatives) to be outlawed (because that's all birth control is), then these substances within the woman's body would be also be de facto outlawed, thus rendering a woman physically destroyed.

a much more attractive candidate to women than they are. By squashing "Obamacare" and going after contraception, I believe they were hoping that women would become angry at Obama for letting it happen (as though he was to blame). The shit actually backfired when they tried to reframe the issue as a religious infringement, then back to a contraception issue, then back to a religious infringement issue. The entire thing exposed some unintentional info like insurance companies would rather pay for contraception than the alternative health events for women, and the fact that 95% of Catholic and other religious women use and have been using contraception for eons. Never mind that Obama administration caught bin Laden, helped get Quadaffi (none of which I agreed with because of the devastation caused), passed healthcare legislation (tho flawed), signed equal pay for equal work legislation, and a host of other successes. That bad-assed President can also sing!!!

laying under that slob while he pops one Viagra after another trying to get it up, I'm thinking that would be the best birth control available without a prescription (and cheaper than the GOP alternative - Aspirin.

asking me to sign a petition asking advertisers to drop Rush. I did. So why are old women so outraged? They don't need BC. These women I know were all mothers and some grandmothers. Most of us have daughters and granddaughters. We don't want THEM to have to fight the fight we ourselves did so many years ago.

It is an assault on ALL women, that is why. Are we going to start having to fight the Women's Liberation Movement again? You're going backward in time, baby. You ONLY purpose in life is to be a broodmare. I DON'T THINK SO.
