WAR and the Government Shutdown

The GOP is holding Obamacare hostage -- making war on progressive healthcare -- because they fear "socialized medicine." The players handed Pruneface the script for his record on it, back in 1961 when JFK was new.

The GOP leadership actually believes it's a winning issue for them because the money their re-election coffers and Swiss bank accounts will receive from Wall Street, Big Pharma and Corporate Medicine will more than make up for the bad publicity they will endure short-term being in the wrong.

It's a political equation Rove ripped out of Machiavelli's playbook. Use money to gain power. Use power to protect money. Repeat ad infinitum or until justice is rendered.

So. What can We the People get out of the government shutdown?

Can the shutdown serve to end the wars for profit and empire?

Can the shutdown end unconstitutional surveillance of Americans?

Can the shutdown result in the return of justice, where people are put ahead of profits?

Like President Kennedy said in another time:

When written in Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters.
One represents danger, and the other represents opportunity.

Let's apply political Jiu-Jitsu liberally: What can we do to exploit the situation for our side?

President and his advisers were totally familiar with the US Constitution and they were aware of its stipulations regarding the debt?

If DU'er markpkessinger can take the time to figure this out, then it is a damn shame that no one at 1600 Pennsylvannia Avenue in Washington DC can figure it out:

markpkessinger remarked over the weekend:
"What the Constitution is clear about, however, as per the 14th Amendment, that "the validity of the public debt of the United States , , , shall not be questioned.

"Therefore, the President, pursuant to his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" and as a matter of national security, should instruct the Dept. of the Treasury to simply ignore the debt ceiling and continue to fund the operation and debt obligations of the government. Protecting the country from the willful infliction of harm by a minority faction would be a perfectly valid and legitimate legal defense for the President in the impeachment effort that would surely follow (and would just as surely fail)."
