I had 18-hours of on site training and several more hours of study. Today I am happy to say I passed the exam and am certified to help people get insurance thru the Affordable Care Act. I'm looking forward to doing this as I think it's a good step in the right direction (Single Payer would be my preference). Now waiting for the health care organization I work for to get its certification so that I can get to work.

(12,165 posts)I'm predicting that it will be a very personally fulfilling job -- helping people get health insurance who may have never had it before for themselves or their families.
And agree that it is a step in the right direction. And I hope to be able to say one day: "Public option now, new democratic 2015 house majority!"
At last we have a platform from which to build.
