Just how will the tea baggers really feel any consequences of the shut down?

How will middle class working couple with children actually feel any crunch in their daily lives? Seniors? When nothing happens to them or their children, won't this just reinforce that we don't need the government?

I'm one who will probably be almost totally unaffected by the shutdown, just because of my specific circumstances. But I'm here on DU, I'm liberal, progressive, almost deranged in that direction. I also already have good health care, but I think the ACA is simply a good start. I'm not one who scorns those foolish enough (sarcasm here) not to have health care.

The kind of selfishness in the typical tea-bagger is breathtaking. They won't care who is hurt by this. Not to mention, there are too many who buy the entire tea-bagger, right-wing, conservative fox news bullshit and have a profound ignorance about almost everything.

It's the ignorance that gets me.

will not feel anything different in their lives. I am wondering about state programs that are federally mandated such as state disability services such as vocational rehab will be cut back or closed down. What about programs such as YMCA and such..do they get Federal funds? If so, will it stop during the shutdown? I want them to feel it..in ways that they never thought would have anything to do with their lives so that they will understand. Sigh!

I almost wish it would be a complete and total shutdown of everything, including the entire air traffic system, the military, every single possible thing. Maybe if those clowns finally got a clue as to exactly how much we all need the various parts of the federal government. But perhaps nothing would move them. And if we did that, the genuine hardship would be even worse than it already is.

Perhaps if Mom and Dad's social security check didn't arrive, and that one NEVER arrived retroactively, perhaps if everyone using Medicaid would be turned away from doctors and hospitals . . . . But I'm not really so terrible a person as I want that to happen. Still, what amounts to only a partial shutdown simply may not be enough to impress these idiots.
