Silver Linings

1. Today's media is focused on the GOP temper tantrum rather than the Exchange glitches. By the time they write the story about the Exchange launch, the technical problems will be solved.

2. The GOP has focused attention on the date of the ACA Exchange launch more effectively than a whole host of NFL players or Hollywood actresses ever could. (Seriously, would you rather watch a Public Service Announcement or a food fight? - No contest, really.)

3. Hey Democratic base - you motivated to vote in 2014 yet?

4. The GOP civil war is at least kinda entertaining.

5. I am surprised (and pleased) at the Democratic discipline so far. Was it Will Rogers who said "I don't belong to an organized political party. I'm a Democrat!"?

6. DU has been more fun to read today than in a long while. Nothing like a common enemy to remind us that we have more that unites us than divides us.

Please don't take this as being overly flippant regarding the real damage the Shut Down will do to many Americans. I tend to respond to adversity with dark humor, so forgive me on this one?
