He was persistent in asking Jay Carney whether or not the President had some responsibility for the shutdown? Carney said that the President is only asking for a clean spending bill and for the Congress to pay its bills. "But doesn't the President bear some responsibility for the shutdown", Karl asked again?
There appears to be an effort by some in the press to spread the blame equally. Does anyone really believe that the Democrats and the President wanted the government to shut down? Does anyone really believe that the Republicans wanted anything other than to shut down the government? It is not a matter of perspective.

(15,575 posts)as a serious question. I'd have to ask Karl, 'have you been paying attention to what has been happening regarding the budget , the continuing resolution and the ACA? If you had, you'd know who is responsible and not ask questions designed to make the President look negligent'
