Its usefulness to the Corporatocracy in terms of selling "Obamacare" as the middle of the road solution to the health care crisis is over, it has become a Paulite, Libertarian anchor weight for the Republican Party so it's going out in glory, gun blazing on the issue that brought it to national prominence.
