Why couldn't the American people sue the government

for taking our taxes to pay the bills and then refusing to use the money for that purpose? I could certainly sue my accountant if he pulled that kind of mismanagement; isn't that what we have essentially hired congress to do?

which is a legal principle holding that governments are not liable for discretionary acts unless they expressly consent to liability (e.g., the Federal Tort Claims Act). That's why.

We deal with incompetent Congresscritters just like any other incompetent employee: by firing them.

Somebody could sue somebody...it says all bills must be paid, no matter where Congress likes them or not...
