My sister and brother in law are two of the federal workers hurt by this shut down.

My sister just posted that she will be driving an hour to work to put a sign up on the door that they are closed. She works for the IRS. My BIL also works for the IRS. at least she puts the blame on congress. I hope everyone does.... that's where it belongs. My sister has bills to pay. She has a disabled daughter and medical bills for her. She has a mortgage. I hope this shutdown doesn't last long. Maybe if enough people give congress hell they will stop the shit. So people like my sister can get back to work. It pisses me off that this crap they pull has no effect on congress. They still get paid. They still get theirs. They suffer nothing from a government shut down. They aren't in the same boat as the rest of us. They are on a yacht owned by the koch brothers and other corporations sipping wine and eating fish eggs. While the rest of us sit in a leaky boat that we have to keep bailing the water out of or we will drown. I hope people remember this in november. And next november too.

I hope for the sake of all those hurt by this that the republicans come to their senses before greater damage is done.

with your third to last sentence. I am not in a leaky boat—I am in the ocean clinging to the sides of that leaky boat
