The Teahaddists who are at the heart of this are actually doing precisely what they were sent to Congress to do. They are not dancing in the face of angry constituents. Oh no, they are dancing *with* cheering constituents.

They've been elected because the big money political terrorist groups and people - Heritage, Koch, Sciafe, and others - bought seriously gerrymandered districts designed to produce bloodlust lily white, hateful, voters. These people, seeing the impending demise of the white majority in the US, are scared shitless and will do A N Y T H I N G to stop the black guy from winning. And indeed, they've seen a fair degree of success. The truth is, all of Obama's legislative successes came in the first two years of his presidency, when he had Nancy Pelosi as his House partner.

These gerrymandered blood red districts are as safe as it is possible to make a congressional district. And if they ever get a guy with whom they're unhappy, there's a hundred of their neighbors who they could vote in, each more crazy than the guy who wasn't crazy enough.

Now consider this. These people don't want to change government. Oh no! They want to kill it. They LIKE it dysfunctional. I dare say, they'd love nothing more than to do away with any and all social progressivism. Medicare? Kill it! Welfare? Are you KIDDING?!?!?!? Social Security? Damn You Franklin D. and your socialist bent. If they could disenfranchise women and people of color, I have little doubt they would do it. I would not be one bit surprised if some of them started to advocate for a reinstitution of, if not outright slavery, at least a return to some form of segregation or apartheid.

The voters who put these people in are the problem. The stooges they send to Congress are just puppets. Stooges. Anyone who thinks the country is post racial, post stupid, is out of touch. The map below shows, with red dots, those districts The New Yorker has termed Suicide Districts. The districts where the elected congresscritter has the backing of crazy, wackadoodle citizens who WANT him to do what we're seeing today. The districts where, so long as they vote this way, have electees who are safe as safe can be.

They are going NO WHERE.

And with a few more millions investment, the rich people can buy even more districts.
