Will Congress Stop Obamacare?

Less than 24 hours from now, the government takeover of health care will begin implementation—unless Congress acts to stop Obamacare.

Over the weekend, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to delay the unpopular law’s implementation by one year. Although the plan falls short of defunding Obamacare, Heritage Action for America called the delay “a step towards preventing the law’s entitlements from taking root.”

Lawmakers also approved a measure to repeal Obamacare’s tax on medical devices and ensure that the U.S. military would continue to get paid in the event of a government shutdown tomorrow.

With so much at stake, all eyes are on President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), who must decide if they will force Obamacare on the American people — harming individual citizens, our country’s health care system and our economy.

2. WP: Would a government shutdown stop Obamacare from happening?

Nope. As Sarah Kliff has explained, the key parts of Obamacare rely on mandatory spending that isn't affected by a shutdown. "That includes the new online marketplaces, known as exchanges, where uninsured people will be able to shop for coverage. The Medicaid expansion is funded with mandatory funding, as are the billions in federal tax credits to help with purchasing coverage." The government would also continue to set up exchanges using money that was already appropriated.

them for a year invest in a whole new system, and struggle to learn that system so they would be in line with this. they are finally seeing some benefits to what they struggled with implementing. i am really curious after all this time if there are really that many doctors that would want to kill this after all they did to be ready for it.
