If any democratic strategists are lurking I have a suggestion

If the government shuts down then every single democrat in the House and Senate should openly declare that they are donating all of their pay earned during the shutdown to a local medical clinic for the poor. At least that's what I would do.

Democrats have been lacking in the totality department when it's come to supporting the President, and this would be the perfect show of faith and allegiance to the Healthcare Act.

... Medicare for All, including dental, optical and hearing aids

... Strengthening and expanding Social Security

... Living wage

... Legalized pot

... Big cuts to defense/homeland/spy agency spending

They've proven they're not essential.

Really, I think Boehner would have a revolt if a shutdown meant his caucus wouldn't get paid.
