Carbonite replacements - Just let Dave Friend know! [ONLINE BACKUP COMPANY]

Last edited Fri Mar 2, 2012, 07:56 PM - Edit history (1)

david.friend@carbonite.com

They are online backup companies.

I use Dropbox - www.dropbox.com - it's free for up to 2 GB and you get 500M additional for each person you invite...

Others are:

Mozy
SugarSync
OpenDrive
MyPC Backup
ZipCloud
iBackup
iDrive
PennyBackup
Elephant Drive

They perform better than Carbonite according to CNet.

You might want to let them know you're exploring other options besides their online garbage until Dave Friend cancels that face to face meeting with Bloat Limburger and terminate all advertising with him.

Just helping out.. Keep the pressure up.

877-665-4466 click 9 on the options menu and listen...will automatically re-direct to a general
message place. I have Carbonite and not particuarly happy with them anyway so I left the message
that their name is being targeted and substitutions are readily available. I told them I believe in
free speech but that Limbaugh has crossed the line with his obscene suggestions & thatI wouldn't
think they would want to be associated with that...blah,blah,blah. Anyway, it was super easy!

and left message. I read on DailyKos that the Pres. of Carbonite is requesting a meeting with Limbaugh. That of course could be eyewash.

More storage would be nice, but its big enough to keep all the text I don't want to have to worry about losing.

I'm not familiar with the specifics because I've never tried it, I've always been a bit cautious about who has
access to my personal info. But I've seen it mentioned in their advertising. Quite likely other ISP's offer the
same feature as a freebie.

This is the latest response from Carbonite that I know of...

A Statement from David Friend, CEO of Carbonite:
“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”
