The Lehigh Valley though swingy has been trending Democratic for a while in national elections, minus the his own office which he's held since 2004. Of course he has to get past the primary, but I'm not sure if a teabagger could really oust him for this.

I'm sure that there's a part of the GOP that knows that if there's a shutdown, it's going to be hung around their necks like a damn millstone, and it could very well come back and bite them in the butt come next November.

The Teahadis, in their narrow-minded fanaticism, simply don't see this. It would seem Rep. Dent does, and he's trying to separate himself from the rest of the Tea Party lemmings who are all too willing to go off the cliff.

He'll probably get primaried out by some screeching lunatic.

After anyone non-black is in the White House. They swear that's not their motivation, but it's been the common subtext for their insanity since the beginning. They sure don't have any objections that are logical or consistent.

He's putting the interests of the country ahead of his own political interests. That's a very honorable thing for any modern Washington politician to do!

All the people running the country in Washington seem to do is create stuff for us to worry about, while we are all pretty horrified with the economically harsh way of modern life already.

We got enough to worry about struggling to hang on to what we've managed to earn for ourselves already. So many of us are closer to the brink of losing it all and giving up on our dreams of happiness and replacing them with a life of grey spirit crushing economic servitude.

On top of that, they make our lives even worse!

He is so gerrymandered that he is safe (you should see the ridiculous way they cut up the districts to support this). Besides, all you ever here around here is that he "is a nice man". He is a representative with nothing substantial to his name. Shows up and votes usually along party lines - straying just enough to appear bipartisan and moderate. It is way past due for this man to lose his seat.
