Any food sleuths about? (overseas processing?)

Anyone know how to find out if a company is shipping meat to China for processing?

In general is ok, but specifically, these: http://www.elmonterey.com/mexicanfood/taquitos/

I normally eat pretty good... but... I like these little frozen taquito things, and they taste pretty good.

I guess the other option is to make my own, but... do I have to blend cooked chicken or something?

still not allowed to.

However, your best bet now and in the future is to contact the company. The web page will give you a contact email/phone/snail mail address.

If I were you I'd ask them now if the location isn't obvious from their web site. "Where is your product made?" "Are you interested in or considering outsourcing any processing to China?" Let them now that if the China option comes up you'll be finding another source.

I know that I do everything I can think of to avoid buying food from China.

you'll always be able to ask. What I'll be making sure of though is that if a company refuses to answer it will be taken as confirmation.

I actually see a market opportunity for "processed and made in America".
