How perfect for him. Glad to see he is getting the good gigs. How perfect for us.
Got this email from Nicole Belle at CREDO overnight, some good ideas on how to voice our displeasure with his lazy ass attitude...
(For some reason the live links didn't make the transition, maybe someone else who received this email could repost it with live links.)
NBC News and Chuck Todd are clearly feeling our pressure.
Yesterday, nearly a thousand activists called NBC demanding that the station apologize for Chuck Todd's outrageous claim that it isn't his job to correct politicians' lies, and make sure its employees know that fact-checking is an important part of journalism. We filled several voicemail accounts with messages and kept multiple phone lines ringing all day long.
For his part, Todd continued to tweet defensive remarks to individual activists and even made some snide remarks about Twitter live on MSNBC.
With Chuck Todd moderating the Virginia gubernatorial debate tonight between Ken Cuccinelli and Terry McCauliffe, we have another big opportunity to make sure he understands that fact checking politicians' lies is a major part of his job as a journalist. If yo u're on Twitter, please click below to Tweet a few messages to @ChuckTodd today:
Hey @ChuckTodd: If @KenCuccinelli lies about #ObamaCare in today's #VAGovDebate will you do your job and correct him?
Tell @ChuckTodd: Fact-checking is an important part of journalism. Please try it during todays #VAGovDebate. RT if you agree.
#QuestionforKen @ChuckTodd: If elected governor, would @KenCuccinelli sign a "personhood" bill to ban abortion and types of #birthcontrol?
If @KenCuccinelli or @TerryMcAuliffe lies in today's todays #VAGovDebate, @ChuckTodd should do his job and correct them! RT if you agree.
Virginia is under threat from climate change. Will @ChuckTodd ask @TerryMcAuliffe and @KenCuccinelli about it at todays #VAGovDebate?
#QuestionforKen @ChuckTodd: How does @KenCuccinelli claim he supports rape survivors if he opposes abortion?
Chuck Todd's admission that he doesn't think it is the role of journalists to correct politicians when they gives us a glimpse into the dysfunction of modern journalism. In order to have an informed populace and a well-functioning government, the public needs journalists to separate facts from lies, and truth from fiction.
Thanks for helping to push back on Chuck Todd's outrageous remarks and send a message to NBC and the rest of the media that the American people expect journalists to do a better job fact-checking politicians' lies.
Nicole Belle
P.S. Whether or not you've already made a call to NBC News to tell them you're disappointed in Chuck Todd's refusal to fact check Republican lies, you can add to the pressure by clicking here to make a call right now.

(23,664 posts)If we keep the pressure on we might be able to see an actual on-air meltdown complete with irrational and nonsensical babbling, followed by an MSNBC announcement that Mr Todd is resigning to spend more time with his family.
