Lawrence O'Donnell on Ted Cruz: "He is not a smart man. He is stupid."

I don't usually watch his show, but caught the end of it Tuesday night. It is worth finding the video. O'Donnell closed with a scathing rant and coverage of the Fake Filibuster. He didn't mince words, and explained why the Washington press don't call out Cruz for what he is: "The stupidest man in all of Washington."

Senator Jeff Sessions is stupid, and everyone in Washington knows it. He literally just isn't very bright, and repeatedly says some of the dumbest things you'll hear...but Sessions went to a bottom-tier law school in one of the dumbest states in the nation. They expect it of him. OTH, Ted Cruz has Princeton and Harvard on his resume. But there are plenty of prominent doctors, scientists and lawyers who might perform well in their degreed fields but are otherwise utterly incompetent at most other things. They got their book learning and passed their tests, when presented other tasks are miserable failures. Ted Cruz is not only that -- he might have done well on his tests -- but he is outright stupid otherwise.

O'Donnell went on to point out how insecure Cruz is in that he still wears his class ring, as if to prove to everyone that he's really smarter than they are. What grown man still wears his class ring?

It was an awsome segment. Blistering, pulling no punches in explaining just how stupid Cruz actually is to completely ignore Washington protocol and still think he's accomplishing something. He also called him an outright liar. I hope you get the opportunity to see it. Sorry, I can't link to the clip from here.

he knows his biggest fans are stupid.

he is probably insecure, elitist, thinks he is better than others though. and probably feels he has something to prove.

but the fact that he is playing to the idiot crowd shows his weakness.

Many people think as you do, that he is just positioning himself for bigger things. But look where it's getting him. He is an utter joke and hated by most of his own party. He is stupid. You've got to see the rant...O'D offered up a good rebuttal to those who believe "he's very smart and knows what he's doing."

look at how he refused to study with anyone who did not get their undergraduate degree from certain schools .

but yeah, i don't think he is that intelligent . but i do think he is mostly playing to the stupids and he knows it.

intelligent person would do this or that - a stupid person with cunning just goes ahead and does bad stupid cunning shit.
You never see them coming, because you are using logic and sense and your idea of right and wrong is not the same as theirs is, not the same at all..

stupidity. And sorry, but "book learning" is not insignificant.

there are many types of intelligence, in any case.

He's despicable. Underestimating him is what's stupid.

What he is doing -- cannon balling his own career, the future of the GOP, and our national security, all in the quest for something he's knows is simply not possible -- is stupid. There is nothing cunning in it. Please watch Lawrence's clip. There much more to it than just saying "Ted Cruz is stupid."
