"SNIP...................................
Chris Matthews couldnt help but bring up Schmidts role in bringing Palin to the national stage, likening it to a Frankensteins monster scenario. He asked Schmidt about Palins blatant threats to the GOP establishment over Obamacare.
Schmidt said for too long this wing of the party [has been] running roughshod for years, trying to purge moderates, and he said the GOP finally needs to take a stand.
We need Republicans, whether theyre running for president, whether theyre the leadership of the Congress, to stand up against a lot of this asininity.
He declared that moderates need to take conservatisms good name back from the freakshow thats been running wild for four years, admitting he has deep regret for giving Palin her first-ever national platform.

(8,377 posts)Sarah, Ted, Marco, please tell us 3 specific things that you think are wrong with the ACA and why?
In 3 years I have never ever heard anybody ask any such question of these morons. The only think Palin would respond with is "death panels" Cruz might have enough functioning brain cells to com up with "It is forcing people to buy a product and that's un-American." And then the questioner should ask, "OK, then, if there are people who don't have insurance, who should pay for their care when they end up on the ER? Isn't freeloading off others also un-American?"
This is why people were so incenses at Chuck Toad. We're not even asking him to fact-check. But can't we at least expect some intelligent questions to be asked?

(8,361 posts)It is finally time, in the establishment Republican leadership of the party, to cut these Tea Party yahoos loose. Ted Cruz twisting in the wind all by his lonesome on this "defund Obamacare" gambit is but one example.
I think you'll see more of this with the establishment leadership saying they are done with the quasi-populist group of libertarian types running around in tricorns demanding there be no compromise with Dems on anything.
