I'd put trickledown and obstructionism, or something stronger. How about Reaganism and oligarchy. Otherwise yeah...shit creek and it isn't accidental.

I enjoyed the spirit of it.
The Keysenian thing got me too.

I think the flood of shit creek should not be debt
but something with the banksters.

I do like the them taking our paddles.

The Debt crisis is a RW fake crisis to justify slashing spending so they can keep the tax cuts for the 1%. And the inclusion of the IRS is another questionable one.

If the stimulus package hadn't passed in 2008/9, the USA would be like Greece and Spain now, suffering mightily under Austerity economics.

He blames it on the standard right wing bogeymen: the IRS, the Fed and Keynesianism. And he is dead wrong.

It is the abandonment of Keynesianism that has taken away the paddles. And what "Debt Crisis"? You mean the budget deficit that had been cut in half under Obama? Republicans love to cite to a nonexistent crisis to justify cuts to the middle class safety net. And what's with the emphasis on the Fed as a source of shit? The Federal Reserve is the only entity actively pursuing a stimulus effort right now. Finally, the IRS does not add shit. It is the only government agency that attempts to collect paddles from the 1%. Listing the IRS is a dead giveaway. This toon reflects Republican/Randian philosophy. Fuck Ron Paul. Fuck Rand Paul.

If you Google the guy who drew this, Ben Garrison, he is infamous as an antisemitic cartoonist. His site, noted on this toon, links to Infowars. Unbelievable that you would post this on DU.

But it's only about half right. Since others have said this is a RW cartoonist, I suppose it's amazing that he got right what he did.

The 1% will get away with it though- too many people think they'll be in the 1%...too bad they fail at math.

of the state just before WWI started, and whose first question upon being recruited by anti-FDR corpo think tanks was "when do I get my Medicare?" can save us now!

of course, if the Dems abandon populism, then they only have themselves to blame when it's the RW that picks it up

Is Ben Garrison ideologically Teabagger?

Much of the current trouble and suffering comes from not applying adequate Keynesian stimulus.
