Wayne LaPierre tells VA Tech Victim, Colin Goddard, that his idea is what's wrong with DC

Yes. LaPierre is directly asked by a Virginia Tech shooting victim the question below and LaPierre responds by telling him, his question is what's wrong with DC.

I didn't realize that the blame for what's wrong with Washington rests on a guy who was shot a hundred miles away in 2007.

Thanks Wayne, you and the NRA continue to scapegoat shooting victims. You and it are bankrupt morally.

Colin Goddard:
I ask Wayne look, let's talk about what it means to be a responsible gun owner. Do you think as a responsible human being, if you sell a gun to somebody you don't know that you should require a background check to make sure they can legally own it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Goddard

Wayne LaPierre:
Private sales between hunters, hunter to a hunter in another state, a farmer to a farmer shotgun, no I don't believe you ought to be under the thumb of the federal government. But that's what's wrong with this town David, here we have a military base completely unprotected, we have a mental system that's completely broken down, they're trafficking in 13 year old girls down the street, there's all kinds of drugs, all kinds of guns, and the priority of this town is "hey do you think a hunter that sells a gun to a hunter in Kansas ought to have to be under the thumb of the federal government?"...

So, first LaPierre, who knows who asked him that question tells the victim of the VA Tech shootings that he is what "...is wrong with this town."

Second, LaPierre now tells us that the Navy Yard was "completely unprotected" meaning there were no armed guards, no staff that was allowed to have guns...understand what COMPLETELY UNPROTECTED means and understand that Wayne LaPierre said it.

Then he goes into some rambling tirade about 13 year old girls down the street.

If you support LaPierre, his organization in any single solitary way, you are supporting and abetting the lies that are abetting those that kill with guns.

It's that simple. It's an organization committed to lying to everybody to encourage the sales of guns and by encouraging the sale and use of guns, criminally or otherwise, then encourages further sales of guns to stop the threats from the proliferation of guns the organizations they represent profited from.

And it's done with lies.

The truth? They know it's lies and the lies, because they know the truth is not that convincing.

And if you think they aren't devoted to lies? I'd like to see where Wayne LaPierre was a decades long proponent of universal mental health care. I won't hold my breath.

He doesn't represent anyone but the fringe and some of the manufacturers.

His rhetoric is counterproductive to those who want tighter gun laws, less violence, and greater accountability without stripping away the value Second Amendment.

He needs to go.

We agree.

I don't think the NRA has always been so whackadoodle, but I'm not sure.

I am sure that I hear more bullshit coming from them than ever before.

that wackadoodle. I remember when my very liberal, Democratic stepfather was a member; he was a hunter at one time and also owned not just hunting rifles but several other older but still operable guns he'd inherited from family members. He said that's exactly what the NRA used to be, mostly an organization for hunters and gun rights supporters who were also, however, not the "guns uber-alles" fetishizers and "my rights trump your deaths" types. He said it began to change in the 1980's, with different leadership.

The focus began to change to that of heavy, strident lobbying for abolition of most gun laws, against any type of gun restrictions whatsoever, and in favor of gun manufacturers and opening up of gun ownership, as well as being able to carry them anywhere, anytime, for any reason. When they began lobbying against the abolition of the "cop-killer" bullets, that was the end for my stepdad and many of his friends who'd been members; they were already getting more than disgusted.

Or 'oh the poor collectors'... What bullshit... They just allow their fear to drive them to murderous conclusions.

as far as crime is concerned, half the problem rests with them and their gun fetish.
