Intelligent and conniving enough to get to the top and do a lot of damage if you ask me. He knows what he's doing.

But then I read that Daily Beast article about how he acted in college and I'm not sure of that anymore. I still think he's milking the rubes, but he may be that crazy on the issues as well. One example they gave was a book he owned called "Was Karl Marx a Satanist?" Assume the answer was yes.

Or, it may be that Cruz is cynically trying to advance his own political career at the expense of his own party.

The guy is smart enough to know that you would have to be pretty dumb to buy what he is selling, he dumbs down his campaign to absurd levels to win votes. The sad thing is that it works.

In years past, I attended maybe one International conference every two years.

There is no shortage of absolutely dog-fucking crazy people there.

Ted Bundy and the Unibomber were part of Mensa (upper 2% IQ), as well.

Cruz is not 'dumb'.

He is really, really, smart.

But he is just a tool, chum thrown across the water in order to see what sticks. He will be cast overboard when his microphone shorts out.

This crew is taking on more water than it can bail.

I love that! So true.

And thanks for the summary of Mensa; we know some really smart people sound so dumb, but no one has determined why.

He, has, however, excelled at Princeton and Harvard Law School and, like Obama, was the editor of the Harvard Law Review.

As Santorum would say: what a snob!

Ted Cruz only says and does what will benefit Ted Cruz. I have no doubt that he does possess intelligence. Too bad he doesn't put it to good use.

back in the 60's. An extremely intelligent and articulate character who knew very well how to play the race card to his advantage and had an incredibly successful career doing that.

we have going on here.

He's using his intelligence to deceive for his own gain.. not for anything else.

Seems to help him lie a fucking rug, too.
