Personally, I think we have a judge crisis in Central Florida. Too many are political good ole boys. Justice is constipated around here because too many lawyers and judges are too conflicted politically, IMHO.
Judge Shea reprimanded by Florida Supreme Court for screaming, insulting lawyers
Orange-Osceola Circuit Judge Tim Shea was reprimanded today in Tallahassee by the Florida Supreme Court for screaming at people in his courtroom, repeatedly insulting lawyers and losing his temper while on the bench.
"This is a sad day for you and for us," said Chief Justice Ricky Polston as he began a five-minute lecture.

Shea currently handles criminal cases in the main Orange County Courthouse. He was elected judge in 2006 and again in 2012.
Before that, he served as chairman of the Orange County school board and head of the Orange County Democratic Party.

(16,020 posts)It is just beyond me how to get past these entrenched people in the party. We were not successful. Could not even get approval to even present our case at the state convention.

(46,758 posts)What I really don't like about Central Florida is that there are too many crooked people that are entrenched in the social networks of both parties. Information peddling seems to be part of the culture. That tends to undermine everyone.
The thing is, I know there most be at least a dozen of us who consider ourselves social recluses. That might help keep the mission pure. Whatever that might be. If it were me, top of the list would be exposing corruption, but that would put us in the cross hairs of some very politically powerful individuals.
Heck, maybe we can start a latin american progressive group and we can begin by exchanging ceviche recipes. I'm always up for some good ceviche.

First issue will be...ceviche. If I can find corvina in the area, I know mine will come out good. Raw fish, onions, peppers and lemon juice. What could possibly go wrong?
