I don't think there's any mass shooting short of one in the House of Representatives

that killed several congress critters, that could get that body to vote for gun control.

If Newtown didn't do it, the one today at the Navy Yard, sure won't.

And the recalls in Colorado, didn't help either.

It's mind boggling how used to this shit Americans are.

So I'm skeptical if even that would make them rethink their stance on this.

I will take at least generations to get the gun-toting mentality out of the USA general population.

And THAT won't happen until the USA changes it's foreign policy.

USA NEEDS these fired up trigger-happy people for all the wars they keep getting themselves into.

Losing a few innocent citizens don't bother the MIC et al one tiny bit.

I've personally seen how the USA treats its injured veterans,

Once they've done their service, vets get treated like shit.

Why the war on drugs, especially marijuana?

People on MJ rarely get into fights.

Peaceful dudes won't go to war.

That simple imo.

Yet low pop states have a far greater influence on the pro-gun agenda, particularly in their Senate weighting. Good local politics is killing smart national policy with regards to guns.

...and a gun control bill drafted specifically in response to that shooting, and named after the president's aide (also shot and wounded) could still face years and years of opposition.

Every couple of weeks some nutjob goes off the deep end and murders several people he
doesn't even know. No one seems to be safe. There must be s solution to it somewhere.

There was a shooting in the House of Representatives in 1954. A Puerto Rican independence group starting shooting at House members from the visitors balcony. The shot five representatives. They got life in prison but were pardoned by Carter in 1979.
