Freepers: Obama should be hanged/beheaded:

To: Red Statements

Obama is an invader at war with the west, and should be impeached, prosecuted and hanged.

“Obama is an invader at war with the west, and should be impeached, prosecuted and hanged.”

I think beheading in pure muslim style for the muslim in chief would be more appropriate!

Or one on Constitutional law.

But, forgive me, I forgot some people care more about legality than ethics. So it seems the immoral is no longer the illegal and that allows people like yourself to dismiss the immorality of an act simply because it is law abiding.

So, let me restate myself.

You support the legal but unethical surveillance of persons who have committed no crime?

What this inevitably leads to is a blurring of the line between what constitutes an actual illegal form of speech and unsettling ramblings of an idiot or asshole.

There was no actual threat made against the President. Thus, it is not illegal. If you think we should violate a person's 4th amendment right when he or she has done nothing illegal, then you have a very shaky ethical foundation.

Come to think of it, I don't like the way you talk so lowly of our right to privacy. I think it's actually a little warped; maybe even dangerous. We should set up a court to wiretap your phones just to make sure you don't actually pose a threat to our 4th amendment rights. Hmmm...

Stating that someone should be killed is not the same as threatening or conspiring to kill someone.

Do you understand the difference?

for posting "Shoot the N***er" on Facebook with a picture of Obama.

http://newsone.com/2703712/david-marsters-barack-obama/

The Secret Service interviewed Marsters and his wife for an hour at his home. They also searched his home for weapons. The couple’s neighbors were also interviewed. Marsters has not been charged with a crime.

It would appear that the Secret Service does not exactly agree with you, and will investigate voiced threats to make sure they are not credible ones.

That guy did not personally threaten or conspire. But he still earned a visit from the Secret Service.

It is a threat. There are legal means in place to check them out, should Agent Mike's bosses decide to send him over there for a chat. No problem there. The freepers have the right to say whatever kind of shit they want to -- and the FBI/Secret Service/whoever apparently has the right to check it out in case there's something to it. No problems if they follow the law.

I don't change my arguments based on whether or not I like the person I'm talking about. To do otherwise would be disingenuous.

What they said is protected speech right up to the point that they themselves threaten physical harm upon the President. Neither of those examples presented are examples of threatening physical harm. They are statements of desire.

Next we'll hear how Conservative Cave dwellers had an orgasm of delight over this thread.

More news.

Oh look, China can now ship processed, cooked chicken to the US. Maybe some 46 year old chicken feet will end up in a Freeperville, Concave pot and they can cry about how bad regulation is.

Who wouldn't want to eat that?
