Sororities are for the most part fucking bullshit. They also reject women for being "ugly", "fat", "poor", "badly dressed". etc. etc....

My hope is more young women and men learn that sororities and frats are not your friends. It holds as much value as getting a good seat with the cool kids in the cafeteria because your parents are leaving for the weekend and they want to have a part there. Exclusion is their thing, unless you are bringing something to them.

I don't feel sorry for her. She wants to be a part of this group? Let her see what they're really all about. Apparently it doesn't matter to her; she's dying to get in. Says as much about her as it does about the sorority.

particularly in the South. The fraternities and sororities with the most power on campus are usually all white (or they might have one or two tokens) and the kids come from wealthy families. I think it's disgusting, and anybody who wants to be a part of it, including this young lady, are doing so to get a social leg-up. Does she really want to be in a club with a bunch of racists? How will she like being their token black girl? Notice that she's raising an issue because she has all the social bases covered. She knows (or is related to) all these people, so she deserves a place at the table. She deserves it, all right. She's just like them.

I embarrassed my wife to be. We had to go to this marriage encounter weekend in order to be married in the Lutheran Church and one of the introductory exercises to get to know the couples was that we each had to tell the group about a recent movie that you saw that impacted you. Everybody told about serious movies like Love tory etc etc and I blurted out Animal House!
