The country (Russia) that has been selling the chemical weapons and the expertise to use it, who now has been caught red handed at it by the world community, asserts that it is the US that 'has earned a reputation as a aggressive actor'?

(12,325 posts)Thats all irrelevant, the White House official said in response. He put this proposal forward and hes now invested in it. Thats good. Thats the best possible reaction. Hes fully invested in Syrias CW disarmament and thats potentially better than a military strike which would deter and degrade but wouldnt get rid of all the chemical weapons. He now owns this. He has fully asserted ownership of it and he needs to deliver.

Putin isn't a peacenik. He cares for Syria's people as much as he cares for his own LGBT community. But, his oil and his arms are flowing under the current regime so, "give peace a chance".
