(18,402 posts)I was born into the Korean War itself, in 1950, and came of age during the Vietnam War (1961-73). Here are some of the military actions/interventions that have taken place since then. They cover every period of my life. The new normal has been normal for at least 60 years.
 Iran Hostage Rescue attempt
-84: Beirut
 Grenada invasion
 Raid on Tripoli, Libya
 Invasion of Panama
-91: Persian Gulf War
-93: Somalia
 Invasion of Haiti
 Bosnia (Operation Deliberate Force)
 Serbia/Kosovo (Operation Allied Force)
-: Afghanistan
-2008: Iraq
