There is a new GOD in town.

The Pundits, Party Spokesmen, Talking Heads, Chamber of Commerce, and Centrist Big Business Democrats tell me that there is a NEW God in town.
They tell me that I can't SEE this new GOD because, like the old GOD, this one is Invisible too.

This new GOD is so ALL POWERFUL that when the "Free Market" makes a mistake, a Giant Invisible Hand reaches down from the heavens,
and CORRECTS the Market ALL BY ITSELF!!!
There is No NEED for Regulations or Government Intervention to Keep things Fair.
There is NO NEED to protect Citizens, Consumers, Small Businesses, or The Environment.
There is NO NEED for Humans to get involved AT ALL,
because the Invisible Hand will DO all that for us!

In fact, ANY interference from Governments, Consumer Groups, Organized LABOR, Workers Rights, Humanitarian Groups, and ESPECIALLY those whiny assed Environmentalists only makes things WORSE.
The Invisible Hand Knows ALL, and works BEST all by himself,
so we have to be careful NOT to interfere,
or it will Piss Him Off.

That is WHY our Democratic Party Leadership is working on another BIG "Free Trade" Deal, and have Locked Out all representatives from Labor Rights, Human Rights, Consumer Rights, Citizens, and Environmental Protection Groups so they don't Piss Off the Invisible Hand.
but Shhhhhh! They want to keep it a SECRET so everybody will be surprised,
and the Invisible Hand will be happy!!!
So don't tell anyone.

Here is a picture of the altar in this New Church where our Political Leaders, Democrat & Republican, all go to worship.

....................The Graven Image on the altar
.............of the Church of the "Free Trade"

I've been having a lot a trouble with this All Powerful Invisible Hand thing.
I think that maybe somebody just made all that shit up.
We've been sacrificing American Job, Wages, and Benefits to this new GOD for 30 years now,
Democratic Party & Republican Party,
and things are still getting WORSE for those of us who have to Work-for-a-Living.

You will know them by their WORKS.

1. If you have Netflix, watch the documentary "I Am".

We have been trained to believe that unless we have wealth and things we can't be happy. We have been trained to believe in competition instead of cooperation. We operate in this world as machines.

This is not how we, as human beings, are supposed to live.

I haven't seen it, and will look for it.

In 2006, My Wife & I sold everything,
bought unspoiled property in The Woods,
with a clear, cold Ozark Mountain Spring,
started Producing our own food,
and living as independently, sustainably, and as close to The Earth as possible.
No Credit Cards, no mortgage, no debt.

We build everything ourselves,
no permits, no inspections, no zoning, no HOA.
We buy NOTHING "new" if we can avoid it.
What we can't make ourselves,
we buy 2nd Hand or Salvage and make it work,
or do without.
So Far, so good.

We are Cash Poor, but very wealthy.
The richest man in the World can not eat better than what we grow here,
especially the Strawberries, Peaches, and Asparagus.

We live WELL on a laughably LOW Taxable Income,
our LOVE, respect, and fascination for Our Mother grows every day,
and Wall Street can Live or Die without our money or concern.

We aren't "survivalists", and avoid people who call themselves that.
They scare us.
We are just Old Hippies, doing what we learned in the 60s,
and deciding for ourselves what is IMPORTANT,
and what isn't.

Gaskin embraced when he and a small group of hippies set out in a bus to achieve a similar sanity of life style 4 decades ago. I consider your efforts that of a truly successful and wealthy man (true wealth is what you have, not what the billionaires have).

As a fellow hippy, I am so very proud of what you and your wife have done.
You no longer have to search for the key to happiness that so many find elusive, you discovered the truth, the key was never made of gold, but was something one nurtured and grew from the energies of the Sun and the Earth, just like the food we eat to sustain us. You discovered that key, turned the lock, and found true success.

Very impressive, I salute you.

that is a fantastic photo! My goal is to do similar once my daughter graduates from college. There's nothing like being self-sufficient and living in harmony with the earth.
