Labour (Ap). Was actually contemplating voting Socialist for the first time in my life, as there's a real chance they'll not get any reps in Parliament, which would be a shame. But I went with Labour in the end.
Polls indicate some sort of right-wing govt. The question is whether we'll get some sort of Conservative + Christian Democrat + moderates govt, or Conservative + Progress Party (FrP in Norwegian) govt. The former I could live with, we've had that before. Our Conservatives are not quite like the U.S. ones, even though we disagree on a host of issues.
But the Progress Party? That actually worries me. They're not, as a whole, the Sweden Democrats or the Front National etc. I would be too simplified to label them as such. But elements within the party certainly lean that way. And they're absolutely right-wing populists, no matter which way you cut it.
Many political commentators insist that the Progress Party will have to become more moderate to function in a coalition. Esp. if we get a coalition with the Conservatives, moderates, Christian Democrats and the Progress Party. That the Conservatives will mostly keep them in check, basically. But that remains to be seen...
Wish us luck, DU
