(22,057 posts)2. Reluctantly against. I despise Assad and the evil he is unleashing on innocents but I'm also tired
of American lives and money pouring down the middle-eastern shithole. We don't really know that the rebels will be a damn bit better-certainly they could be equally bad or worse.
It's very hard for me to not support the president-I want to be on his side-but in this case I just can't.

(11,489 posts)3. If it were absolutely proven that Assad ordered the chemical attack, I'd approve of a strike.
I would probably also approve if the UN gave approval, since that would mean Russia and China even signed off. But if the UN didn't approve and it were somehow proven to me beyond any reasonable doubt that Assad ordered this, I would probably approve it as well.
My personal preference is for a UN peacekeeping force, an ICC investigation, and pursuit of criminal charges, but I don't think that's going to happen.
