If the House votes "no," and Obama goes ahead, that's not going to be good. And it shouldn't be.

I don't think Obama is a monster or a stooge, but he is fucking up this whole thing. I would hate to see him blow up his presidency with this little misadventure.

1. Obama has handled this situation horribly

The longer this goes on the more damage will be done to his Presidency, lots of people who supported him in the past are disgusted by the way he has handled this, and Kerry has handled it even worse. I never thought Kerry would be as bad as Condoleeza Rice but his performance in the office has been so shameful that I think he has earned that comparision.

2. If he loses the vote and goes on and does it anyway wouldn't that

be real grounds for impeachment. He said himself it doesn't affect national security. Boy has he fucked this one up from the

order an attack. That would put all the responsibility for whatever happens next completely back in his lap. He will not allow that.

Responding to a bar fight in progress is one of the most hated calls that cops respond to. You're dealing with a large number of drunken belligerents and "spectators" who can turn on you at any moment.

So the preferred tactic is to turn the lights and sirens on well in advance of approaching the scene. This gives the belligerents time to cease and desist .......... and to leave the area before police contact.

I hope this is the trick/tactic President Obama has up his sleeve.
