Ford the election against Carter in 1976. I never liked Ford because of his whitewashing of the Kennedy assassination when he was the working chair of the Warren Commission

that you can do whatever the fuck you want to and never go to jail. Since Rummy and Cheney were part of the Ford admin, I believe they heard that message and took it forth.

by a president going to jail.

How wrapped up in the flag do you have to be to think you're somehow diminished by punishing a corrupt government?

People build up a grandiose mythos around the "office" that I find just plain disturbing.


ETA: Mind - I never said I didn't know all the various rationalizations people have for doing so. It just never made sense to me to embrace such thinking.
