(15,689 posts)because the vote would be no. If somehow the vote can be flipped to yes, then and only then will they vote. By that point we'll probably have been bombing for two weeks already. Obama will take his yes vote in the Senate and go bomb some folks with it. He will put a brave face on things: Of the chambers of our bicameral legislature which have expressed an opinion, I scored a perfect 1:1 win for authorization. In the whole history of our nation, a more just war has never been sort of declared by way of vague loopholes and open ended contingency clauses before!
