Jim Crow For The Poor

A columnist at the Daily Caller writes today that people receiving food stamps should be forced to shop at government-owned stores selling sub-standard food so that they can feel the "humiliation and pain in receiving government assistance."

Oh, and they should "lose the privilege of voting."

My reform measures might seem draconian to some (and the antithesis of the free market), but they would hopefully have the desired result of reducing food stamp rolls so we could eventually eliminate the program and let the states handle the issue. Before accepting food stamps, people would have to carefully consider whether they want to face the loss of voting privileges, the humiliation of shopping at government stores and using government food, the inability to smoke or do drugs and the added inconvenience of having to make two or three stops for their groceries should they choose to buy snacks with their own money. Plus, tax producers would no longer have to knowingly be face to face with people at the check-out who are on government assistance but have nicer cell phones and accessories than they do.

So, essentially, Jim Crow for the poor. He even says food stamp recipients are "slaves to the government and should be reminded of that fact."

Poor needing assistance. They want to humiliate all of us for daring to vote for Obama. The anger within the GOP base is not rational. They are collectively insane.

In crude terms, you don't bother to treat a rabid animal like a sentient being until you finish dealing with sentient beings with a future. Its suffering is already extreme enough that its mind is not functional, and while compassion is appropriate, attempts at behavior modification of any sort are useless. The appropriate goal is to see, first, that nothing is harmed by the rabid animal. AFTER that goal is accomplished, you may be a humane as you wish in the disposal of a fatally diseased animal.

Is that clear enough?

Homelessness is perhaps a good place for someone who's devotedly, profoundly antisocial. Jails are much more suited for people who simply cannot stop hurting others for pleasure than suited for people who can't stop smoking pot. Sometimes people are so invasive that there's no answer but the castle doctrine.

It may sound like old-fashioned sexism to some - feel free to expand the genders as appropriate (in particular, parent-defending-child emotions are equally as appropriate here), but it baffles me how a married man could allow a "doctor" to give his wife a "transvaginal ultrasound" and not simply kill the rapist there and then. I mean, you're going to LET someone do that because a REPUBLICAN tells you to?

that his/her fellow citzens need the assistants of the government to feed themselves. Maybe if they do not have to be stuck in line watching people get the most that basically $50 will buy.

Or maybe that person IS so freakin out of touch with how bad things are they don't even want to try and understand or help the situation.

What a JERK either way.

The author of this Daily Caller piece writes for Regnery Publishing and he authored one of the "Politically Incorrect" guides. I haven't read his book but I read Regnery's Politically Incorrect Guides to the Civil War and to the South and wrote about the racism in the books in an Amazon review of a right-wing hack: http://www.amazon.com/Injustice-Exposing-Racial-Justice-Department/product-reviews/1596982772/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

Feb 2012

35‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37“Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40“The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

41“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44“Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ 45“Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46“These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Matthew 25

will come with public scorn as well. Recipients while going to the Government food stores will be required to wear a government issued Tee shirt that says something like:

" I am a disgrace to the American People. I am a leach living off of your tax dollars, and should be spit upon, because I am truly lame, and pathetic. I should be out looking for a DAMNED job! "

As my friend from the UK would say, these Republican conservatives are wanker arseholes.
