Will President Obama lose the Syrian vote mostly because of the "left"?

Will they vote "NO" with a majority of the Republicans? Will they be responsible for the defeat of President Obama's request to bomb Syria?

The "left" is a very important component of the Party and must be consulted on these issues before jumping the gun. The days of guns and roses are over. Guns for the warriors and roses for the dead.

The "left" of the Democratic Party is like the majority of Americans, in that they are tired of war. They are tired of the lies. They want to think about America - not the Middle East.

So set yourself for the attacks to come...

a voice in media, the left is certainly a powerful force in this country if it's capable of derailing plans for war.

Conservatives in both parties want everything both ways.

Anything to the left of Wall Street has been suppressed for the past 44 years. I think it's about time they stopped blaming us for everything.

Not because of the political "Left nor Right", but because it is not in the best interest of the United States to jump into another unwinnable war. I'm crossing my fingers that Congress will not authorize any military strikes. It is not the way to go.

I hope it sends a clear message that we not only exist, but that he can't take us for granted anymore. A lot of us have been willing to put up with this center-right crap, but another war crosses the line. He should remember well that it was his stance against war that propelled him to the nomination, and it was the left of the party that got him there. And we can take him out, too.

the majority of the democrats in the house and senate party consists of what could be called rockefeller republicans.

we`ll see in the upcoming votes who stands up against military action against assad and who stands for it.

I knew Iraq was a lie at the time. Afghanistan was being pumped up also. How much more damage could we do to that country after Russia got bankrupted over it?
We are still finding out and also that lesson didn't take, because now we want to start another war, police action, skirmish, or whatever label they decide on this time.

Only this time...

In the House now it's republicans 158 NO, 11 YES; Democrats 54 NO, 32 YES. Republicans will be able to defeat this all by themselves. (Over 90% of them look like NO votes.)

It will be difficult for anyone to blame the left of any other part of the a Democratic Party for this one.

The Repubs can defeat it without the Democrats voting but I think less than 218 Repubs will vote against it? They will need a few Democrats to defeat it.
