Blue Dog Democrats have a Facebook page. This is my post to their wall

Go like it quick, before they take it down! on edit: it looks like my comment fits the general sentiment on their wall.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blue-Dog-Democrats/160211630734694?sk=wall

I would rather vote for Democrats who look out for the interests of average Americans rather than split the difference or even agree with Republicans even when it hurts middle and working class Americans like starting unnecessary wars, deregulating banks and Wall Street, and trade deals that gutted our manufacturing base those were Republican ideas that couldn't have been enacted without Blue Dog support. Blue Dogs even embrace right wing education reforms that want to break teachers unions and replace public schools with corporate run charter schools so Wall Street can siphon off some of our tax money meant for schools as profits.

Blue Dogs want your vote, but they want the money of big corporations and Wall Street banks more, first as campaign donations, then as big paychecks as lobbyists, CEO's, and do-nothing corporate board members when they leave office.

Blue Dogs should be honest about what they are: Republicans who don't have the stomach to suck up to the religious right, racists, and homophobes of that party's base, but do want to prove to the rich that they are more competent and reliable servants than the out of the closet Republicans.

deregulate Wall Street, and enact trade agreements so that the Republicans won't get in and do unnecessary wars, bail out banks, deregulate Wall Street, and enact trade agreements

no, I'm not joking--this is literally their thought process

8. Yes, if Democrats do things that Republicans WOULD do, then that's a politically savvy thing to do..

... in some people's minds.

I find it instructive that Republicans NEVER stake out, pursue, and legislate from the left to be similarly "politically savvy".

I wonder why that is?!?!

most of today's DEMOCRATS: Bob Packwood and Mark Hatfield.

They were respected across the board.

all the people who posted slam them.

Of course I know what they would say in their own defense: ''we represent the SILENT majority who don't waste time posting to political boards and other such nonsense.''

I pity those who wait for an occasion for alienating political allies. It's always the right time for McCarthyism!

9. because blue dogs are so deferential to progressives?

Unless it's campaign season, blue dogs lick the hands of Republicans and their corporate masters and shit on progressives.

Everybody is getting tired of this ''the problem in Washington is divisiveness'' shtick. The reality is we vote for different parties to get different policies, and when blue dogs enable conservative policies by either pre-compromising half the store away or just completely agreeing with the GOP from the get go on some issues, they are saying our vote doesn't count: we only have a choice between conservative policies or half-conservative ones. That isn't a choice at all.

progressives like Dennis Kucinich, Alan Grayson, Bernie Sanders?

Or say how FDR was a better president than Reagan and the Reagan Revolution has been a disaster for America?

Or that the conservative program of lower taxes for the wealthy and corporations, privatizing government functions (but still funding them with taxpayer dollars), and deregulating Wall Street have been a disaster for working and middle class Americans?

Most of us have had the misfortune of knowing people like Blue Dog politicians in real life: they can be very pleasant and accommodating to those they do business with and even competitors. Then when they get home, beat the shit out of their wife and kids, take the money the kids made mowing lawns and grandma's family jewels, and use that money to wine and dine clients at work.
