I believe the subliminal message screams for legalization of cannabis and implies cross race brotherhood as result, share the weed.
I'm going to make a point of having a chicken pot pie for lunch.

(11,366 posts)I make homemade chicken pot pie with left over baked chicken all the time.
Here's a good recipe:
1 2/3 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
1 cup cut-up cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup (get the low-salt kind)
2 frozen pie crusts (take one out of the pan and lay it flat to make the top)
Bake it in the oven until the crust turns golden brown.
Not the healthiest dish in the world because of the creamy soup and crust, but it's certainly filling and probably scads more healthy than anything from KFC.
Uncle Joe
(58,417 posts)the only thing I would add to that might be some mushrooms and a little cream of mushroom soup.

(11,366 posts)It's good, but not as classic.
And it's yours, so you eat it the way you want it. I don't want to inflict my beliefs on your just to earn votes from insane idiots and... oh... sorry... slipped into a Santorum moment.
Heh!
Enjoy!

I have tried this recipe, as well, and adore it. I'm not putting you down. I'm just giving an easy recipe that anyone can do even after working 8 to 10 hours.

The thing that struck me was the knowing look they gave each other immediately after he said chicken pot pie.

While the restaurant design and menu are modern, the overall visual and message spoke of the 70s.

Disco dancers had guts and transcending masculinity, nerds had the brains.
It's no coincidence that "John Travolta" would play both Vinnie Barbarino of "Welcome Back Kotter" and "Tony Manero" of "Saturday Night Fever."
Travolta's characters; weren't "nerds."

(58,417 posts)Rambo was primitive macho and his ilk were threatened by the transcending masculinity as signified by Disco for two reasons.
1. Because they were afraid to dance and thus felt shut out.
2. They didn't want the races co-mingling in such blatant social circumstances, after all the Disco Era wasn't that far removed from the Civil Rights Era.

Doesn't look like the 90's to me. They look dressed like the 70's. I worked at KFC in the 70's in H.S. for 2 years. There were no chicken pot pies back in the 70s that I recall.
