I cannot condone gas attacks, but I cannot believe that strikes in Syria won't have far reaching repercussions.
How about a cease-fire, followed by diplomacy? How about massive aid to the refugees? Economic pressure?
I see half the world rising against the US, riots, consulates blown up, the Straight of Hormuz blockaded, potential missiles flying against Israel. Gas prices doubling. Many more deaths. And many more unforeseen problems. This will NOT end well. There seems to no clear goal besides issuing a "punishment" to Assad. Please Mr. President, you are aligning yourself with McCain and Graham. Don't go down this road. Your "red line" statement, well just eat it, and help the world avoid even more suffering.

Let's be blunt: at this point a Syria strike is nothing but a cover Obama's/the Presidency's/US's ass move. Obama stupidly drew that line and now we have to "kick ass and take names" to prove to the world we're not p*ssies.
There are other ways to "punish" Assad (if he indeed was responsible) and we would be smart to pursue them. Obama could show leadership and insist that Assad be tried for war crimes by the international community -- that could go a LONG way to showing the world does not tolerate such practices and that we can accomplish punishment that doesn't involve a tomahawk missile.
