This isn't to minimize the problems (and suffering and loss of human life) caused by lobbing missiles into Syria but it strikes me that a Ground war is considerably more expensive.

aside from the fact that Obama has already said this wouldn't happen, putting americans on the ground in syria would be astoundingly stupid; but, more important, there's not nearly enough oil to be gained to justify it.
