ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Hundreds of people packing the Royal Oak Music Theater for Mitt Romney's campaign event were treated to a special performance by Kid Rock.

The Detroit superstar performed his hit Born Free after Romney delivered his speech to the enthusiastic crowd.

The event had been billed to feature a special musical guest, but no details were provided about who it would be ahead of time.

Throughout his campaign Romney has used Kid Rock's Born Free at appearances. The singer also introduces Romney in a video used at campaign stops.
