This is us

You have to wonder how a nation that had, in a single event, two dozen of its youngest of schoolchildren mowed down in a spray of bullets and did nothing could possibly care about any amount of carnage taking place in the civil war of a country that half of our citizens could not find on a map.

(Sorry. Took my daughter to see this yesterday. It was on my mind. )

Your point is valid, however.

How else can you explain that the citizens of our nation would allow this to happen?

We will get our due. Even those that don't agree with it. We are all in the same barrel, headed toward the falls, with no way to get off.

It is all so very surreal for the "black helicopter" left. Like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Too much inertia to stop it. All we can do is watch.

Everything about this nation is going to shit. Public works, safety net, education, environmental safety, wages/benefits, concealed guns, military adventurism, you name it.

It is all going to shit.

To most people, the Middle East is a fuzzy area, full of sand, camels and people wearing robes, somewhere on the other side of the Mediterranean.

12. Adam Lanza killed himself afterward. I'm sure we wouldn't bomb if al-Asaad did the same.

It is the GOP's moral failure, not the country's.
