Thank you, Rachel Maddow.

For once someone is telling the story of Iran during the 1980s without focusing on the US being traumatized by the notion that a people could hate the policies directed toward them. If you are able, watch Rachel's first segment online. She tells the story of the use of gas against the Iranian people and how our government stood silently and let it happen. We picked Saddam then.

Edited to add that I was living there during a good portion of the Iran-Iraq war when these attacks occurred. It was terrible to be under seige and to know that the missiles coming in every night were sold to Iraq by my own country. I've always held Reagan in contempt.
